the lean event

Software Acumen

Working collaboratively with long-standing client Software Acumen, Bureau is currently devloping the identity for the inaugural edition of the lean event.

The minimal identity comprises a two colour palette and single typeface used in a flexible grid system. Imagery is comprised of portraits of the speaking roster, produced by Norwich based illustrator Joel Benjamin.

We carefully curated and directed source photographs to ensure we could achieve our aim of presenting the speakers as world leaders in their fields, with an aspirational air that referred visually to political posters that so effectively empowered their intended audiences.

The event website is fully responsive, making use of the identity's typography and colour palette to display the conference schedule, speaker and venue information.

The grid-based approach becomes most apparent in the event's programme booklet where vertical and horizontal type placement and column widths are irregular, ensuring that visual interest remains high throughout.

Bureau also designed the venue's stage setup, employing a series of large banners, each showcasing a pair of speakers. Repetitive banners combined with large portraits provided a further visual reference to our influences.

A small number of promotional items were also produced to further extend the event's identity after the event itself had passed.
